NO, I can’t tell you why I chose one phrase over the other. I didn’t think about it. I just used the one that came naturally to me.

i think if we use you have used a wrong preposition it means the result of that is still left but if we use , you used wrong preposition it means the result or impact of that act is finished. i think i am near the answer …

if we use that you’ve used the wrong preposition it means the result and impact of that act is still left but if we use that you used the wrong preposition it means the the action is done and there is no result and impact of that act is left. thanks i hope it will clear your confusion
If you wish to use your analysis, the impact is still left and there is a result because your message with that preposition is included.
