Topic: Some people believe that to protect local culture, tourism should be banned in some areas whereas others think that change is inevitable and banning tourism will have no benefits. Discuss both sides and give your opinion

It cannot be dined that tourism contributes to promoting the heritage of cultural values and creating opportunities for local development. Some people claim that few areas are endangered to culture loss, and therefore, they should be closed entirely to tourists; however, others insist that this measure is not beneficial to the locals. Although, I strongly favour the latter, this essay will explain both point of views.
On the one hand, the intrusion of outsiders may disturb local traditions and create unrest among the people. Local people are likely to mimic the lifestyle of tourists. They dress up, talk and behave like tourists, which may result in the loss of native customs and traditions. For example, some restaurants have started catering more to foreign tourists, cooking western meals instead of local cuisine. Furthermore, visitors often lack respect for local traditions and culture such as getting drunk in public or behaving inappropriately towards locals. Thus, it is believed that blocking such areas to tourists is the easiest way to conserve local culture.
On the other hand, we cannot avoid changes to native cuture and it is not a good idea to forbid tourism to conserve culture. Firstly, tourists are not the main reason for cultural changes. For example, with the development of mass media, people can learn and imitate different things outside then bring it back to their local. In addition, without tourism industry, poverty and unemployment may happen while many native people earn their living from it. Especially local and government revenue will be declined intensely. In short, there should be more practical measures to protect the culture than banning it.
In conclusion, despite some opinions proposed preventing local culture from visitors, it appears to me that the merits of gaping native culture are more notable than its drawbacks. To buffer local cultures against extinction, the governments should dawn laws, together with tax payers, own appropriate and comprehensive plans.

I would be so thankful for all your advices!

Hi Huong, welcome to our forum. It would be great if you could tell us why you are preparing for the IELTS and what you want to study. As for your text, let’s start with "an advice" is wrong (some advice is correct) - #2 by Jamie_K

You probably mean ‘denied’ here?
