Which one of the following constructions is correct?

1-Lucy’s head ached from {the long hours of sun} {and the glare on the water}.
2-Lucy’s head ached from the long hours of {sun and the glare on the water}.
Or, does “the long hours of” only refer to “sun” or does it refer to " the glare on the water" as well?

Lucy’s head ached from the long hours of sun and the glare on the water.

The sentence is ambiguous and can be interpreted in both directions.

The two things combined gave her a headache. Without further context, I would assume it means “long hours of the sun and long hours of glare on the water”. The context might make it obvious that the glare on the water was for a shorter period of time. In that case, “long hours” may only apply to the sun…
