Learning to construct sentences with the words save up. Please advise

  • They might need to saved up for a week just to get enough money to place one order from restaurant.
-They might need to save up for a long period of time just to get enough money to order food one time from this restaurant. (Can I say long period of time?).

Did I phrase the above sentences correctly?

This one is definitely not phrased correctly. ‘They might need to save up…’ you cannot passivize an infinitive.

  • They might need to save up for a week just to get enough money to place one order from this restaurant. is correct.

I would rephrase your second as folliows

  • They might have to save dilligently over an extended period of time just to afford food from this restaurant.

Hope this helps.
