Is it really difficult to speak English? (There are millions of people around...)

Hello everyone,

There are millions of people around the world who want to improve their English speaking skills. However, only a few of them know how to achieve that goal.

Speaking English requires a lot of practice and constant work. It’s similar to doing a sport: Only if you practise it on a regular basis, can you get good at it. That’s why we’d like to invite you to record online voice messages together with us here on the forum. Read this text out loud and record your own voice.

Post your recording on the forum so you can get feedback on your pronunciation, intonation and accent. We can even hold contests to nominate the best speaker or to guess the nationality of the reader.

When you are reading and recording this text, you have already overcome the fear of speaking English, which so many of us experience. Isn’t that a great feeling? It’s the start of your new life as an English speaker![YSaerTTEW443543]

hi Torsten
hope you are fine
you are right, it’s a good idea but we don’t a contest to choose the best but we need a corrective action in a case of speaking mistakes. we need a guidance for example you have to pronounce that because it’s well pronounced with this way. i need a guide with me all time to give correct answers. ther’s another problem implied in how to make difference between dialects and accents for example i knoe a native english citizen but i can’t get him and i know another i can understand what he says. where the problem exists.
i’m looking forward to hearing you as soon as possible
yours sincerely
Amr

Hi Amr,

Before we can give you any advice or information on your pronunciation or accent you need to record the text as I have explained.

Writing about problems with your pronunciation is one thing. Recording voice message and improving your speaking skills is another.

Best regards,
Torsten[YSaerTTEW443543]

Hello Torsten,

Thanks so much for your message! I believe the Voice Recorder forum will be a big success as people all over the world want to improve their English.

Your post really does sound quite good. I also like the idea of having contests and guessing the nationality of the reader. After all, if we can have a little fun it makes learning English a lot eaiser.

This forum could be a place where people can relax, have fun, and post their questions all while learning English.

Thanks a lot, Torsten!

Tom

Hi Tom,

You are absolutely right – recording voice messages on the forum really helps our forum members practice their speakings skills. It’s great to have an expert voice over specialist like you on board so we can get professional feedback on our pronunciation.

As for advertising the online voice recorder, we have already added a ‘Voice Recorder’ link on our home page and we will create little text ads to promote this feature here on the forum.

I look forward to receiving your first interview answer.

Talk to you tomorrow,
Torsten[YSaerTTEW443543]

้็Hi Mr.Torsten,
Thank you for every suggestion.
But I have one problem about listening English language.
Listening is boring especially when I can’t understand something in sentence.
So I feel bad and lazy for learning it.
Do you have some way or method to help listening it’s easy or funny to attract for learning it?

Thank you in advance
Peeramon.

Dear Mr Torsten
How are you today ?
I am very happy to receive your kind email. I love you very much ,because you hepped lot of , I cannot mention that . I just say thaks very much you and all your friends like Mr Alan .
thanks

Speaking in english isn’t that hard. If you’re good at writting you’ll be good at speaking, if you’re decent at writting you’ll be decent at speaking too. What makes it hard is people are shy, affraid of failling, affraid of not pronouncing the words the right way.

I had an english oral, ESL at high school. Pretty easy stuff, but before I get there I was stressed out because I had no experience. I thought I would be bad at it even tho I knew i could pronounce most words the right way. It was one of my first conversational experience and I didn’t know what to expect. In the end, the teacher couldn’t beleive I didn’t speak english on a regular basis and she said all oral long that i was really good. I’ve got 30/30 for the oral and it’s been maybe the easiest thing I’ve ever done in high school.

If you can overcome your fear there’s no reason you can’t speak english.

I know, that every language consists of 3 parts - reading, writing and speaking.Speaking is the most difficult part of language. When I read,I can stop reading and I can look through the dictionary and it is the same with writing, but I must be quick when I speak. The best learning of speaking is in the country where people speak English. But I was in Australia for 1 month and I was unhappy, because I could not understand them when they spoke quickly - even when they spoke slowly.I understood them when they spoke slowly and clearly. The English of people who study English is - I can tellnot natural- artificial and I think,English is a very difficult language.I can read,I can write, but speaking is difficult for me.For me is better to write many ideas than to speak them. Now I have something with my computer and I cannot use the parts of looking video or listening, but todoy is coming to me one technician,he will repare it and after that I will try to speak Thanks for understanding. Sorry for the quality of the record. That’s because I have a microphone only on my laptop. At any rate, I’m not going to participate in the contest.
But I’d like to get some feedback, even if I am going to be criticized.

Dear all,
I’m quite excited about the idea of holding a pronunciation contest. It’s a good opportunity for us to improve our English pronunciation. In the contest, a native speaker may provide us with a sample (reading a passage, for instance), so that we can listen, immitate, record and compare our own recordings with it. The good competitors might be praised or get some kinds of reward for motivation. I’m looking forward to hearing about this contest. But I don’t know the reason why I can’t turn on the other members’ voice messages here. Could you please give me an instruction how I can switch on those recordings by the keyboard? Wish you all the best!
Sincerely yours,

hi there i donot know how i can record y voice.
