I'll talk to my boss and let you know vs. I'll speak to my boss and let you know

Hi,

The interview

 • Could I work from home from time to time?
 • I don’t see why not. I’ll talk to my boss and let you know.

About the previous sentence, wouldn’t it be more proper to say “I’ll speak to my boss and let you know”?

Thanks a lot.

Both are appropriate, though I agree that ‘speak’ has more finesse.

Yes, it is the proper way especially when he/she is your boss.

He is not speaking TO his boss., he’s speaking ABOUT his boss.
