The table below demonstrates how many barrels of oil produced per day in four countries: Nigeria, Chad, Congo and Somalia between 2000 and 2004.
Looking at the table, it is immediately obvious that there was an increase in daily oil production, with Chad witnessing the most dramatic rise, whereas the figures for Congo declined considerably.
The number of oil barrels produced daily in Chad started at 0 barrel per day (bpd) in 2005, after which it experienced a rise to 50,000 bpd in 2004. An opposite trend can be seen in Congo, with figures dropping from 275,000 bpd in 2000 to 203,000 bpd in 2004.
In Somalia, 5000 barrels of oil were produced on a daily basis in 2000, followed by a rise to 50,000 bpd in 2004. Meanwhile, Nigeria registered a figure of 205,000 barrels of oil per day in 2000, then a drop to 190,000 bpd in 2002 and a final increase to 213,000 bpd in 2004.
