Hello Basu04,

You are welcome to the www.english-test.net community. Hope you will have just enough of what it takes to succeed.

As for the problem of FILE NOT FOUND, it may occur due to the quality of your Internet connection. This is the problem I faced at times too.

But I think Torsten will tell you about that.

Best regards

Hi Nzuahp,

Thanks so much for your reply. I dont think internet connection is the problem for opening these files because at the same i could open other audio files like feedbacks and responses. Please advise if there is any procedure for not getting this error.

Bhaskar

originally i think my ip is blocked by the website , but i try other country’s ip (use proxy ) ex: USA 、JAPAN 、MEXICO …etc
finally the word「file not found」appear again
so i think the english-test’s listening exercise audio has some problem ^^

i use google search the thread

Hi Basu04 and A777starmy,

Torsten affirmed that it was a Server problem and Slava has solved the problem
except for the TOEFL lecture audios where I can still face the same problem of “File not found”.

Hope we are going to enjoy it once more !

I thought I was good in English. After listening the conversation I came to know the truth. It may be faulty audio system. Let me thank you. You have done a good job for me to improve my listening skill. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. Please do send such audios or videos.

Hi everyone! I’m Betty. I took the first test. Wow, the first conversation is not easy at all, but it’s good practice. I listened to it three times and then read the transcript, just to find out that I had always heard the student say “thinking of” and not “thinking about”.
I have a doubt about the verb in this question: 3). Why does the advisor say this: “I was ready to pack it in after the first two weeks”?
(A) To show that she emphasizes with the student’s feelings.
Now, I’m not sure about the meaning of this sentence, because when I look up the word in the dictionary I read that “to emphasize” means “to stress”. When I answered I thought about “empathy” instead. Could the verb be “empathize”? Are they synonyms? Thanks!

You are right Betty. The verb should be “empathize” not “emphasize”. There is a big difference between them.
