sorry Mons was just dreamin of Rocky top

Itâs not bad that you stopped for a while and started dreaming, Jamie.
When I dream of something, my thoughts take me often to the sea and to my happy childhood which was very much related to it. I have always been in love with the sea.
So⌠Dream on, it feels good.
It seems that as soon as you get away from the crowd your language begins to change
I suppose itâs changing, and I see these people are very relaxed. Normally - they got away from the crowd.
If you ask me what else I see: I see that youâre still dreaminâ
Yes Mons just having a glass of wine between crime fighting but I have to say I find
this rather ambient music both relaxing & therapeutic invoking a somewhat dream like
state? ?
youtube.com/watch?v=nyFvDbwyhF8
If this relaxing & therapeutic music induces you a dream-like state, then a glass of red wine is all you need, if you can ignore the black bat waiting for you with an empty glass (of wine).
Oh, youâre still dreaming⌠and the music is so relaxing âŚ
Well Iâm actually trying to get my dinner Mons but canât get any peace
Well Iâm actually trying to get my dinner Mons but canât get any peace
No, you canât! you have no chance to eat tonight.
Mummy and daddy didnât choose the right moment and theyâre exaggerating beyond all limits. Tell them to leave you alone!
I suppose theyâre doing it very often, and itâs irritating.
If you want to do something, look: do you remember you used to say âE a i râ pretty often when you were a baby? well, next time when they start asking you questions, just say the two-years-old version of âE a i râ every 5 minutes, so youâll keep them busy
:)))

I suppose theyâre doing it very often, and itâs irritating.
:)))
Yes its irritating.
Some people are so irritatingly irritating but strangely enjoyable however being so polite and understanding really âsuitsâ you
btw if you want to be efficient then its better if only one person makes an efficiency list.
New York Manhattan accents again

Who? me?

If I want to be efficient, I make my own efficiency list or I donât make a list at all. Just try to resolve things quickly, starting with the easiest.
New York Manhattan accents again
New York Manhattan accents arenât special to me, in fact, I think itâs representative for the American way of speaking English. If Iâm wrong, itâs because I watched too many similar movies in my life.
What Iâm sure of, is that the suits suit them all
I was talking about that guy Louis (as you well know of course :-)) but I also think the posh Professional Banker/Lawyer Manhattan accent is quite distinct. People will tell you there are different accents to each of the boroughs but I think you could say that about most Cities⌠I just think the Manhattan accent(which probably starts in Harvard etc.) is the nearest US equivalent to the Posh British Accent.

Of course
I watched a few interviews because I was curious to see if the girl is right and I think she imitated the Queen very well, but with Margaret Thatcher she exaggerated much.

I just wanted to say that it is amazing that this little thread that I started has turned into such a mega-thread thanks guys!
Second, I live in Tennessee, and Rocky Top is either our official song or unofficial song - I do know it is the school song for The University of Tennessee. Rocky Top was written by Boudleaux Bryant and Boudleauxâs kids went to the same school that my kids go to - a little brush with greatness! He also wrote the famous Nazareth song, âLove Hurtsâ, the Everly Brothers âBye Bye Loveâ, and a bunch of country songs back in the 50âs and 60âs

Thatâs pretty amazing Luschen - such a small world it really is. and sad how that way of life has somehow gone forever within a short lifetime(With computers and Taxes). Just curious if have you tried the old Moonshine yourself much? Its basically Vodka so I suppose it represented âFree Entertainmentâ without paying the Government??? And I suppose why should you pay the Government to drink something you made/created yourself? which is perhaps part of what makes âRocky Topâ so important/poignant? as moonshine seemed to define that way of life? - The same theme made Copperhead Road such a big hit for Steve Earl(Met him in Galway in 2000)⌠? The narrator of which was John Lee Pettimore, whose father and grandfather were both active in moonshine making and bootlegging in rural Tennessee, back in the day. Earle who shows the absurdity of it all in a context of todayâs drug laws (âDAâs got a Chopper in the Airâ) in other words it was always about âMoneyâ and never about âStopping Peopleâ -

Regarding the actual forum thread Luschen I think you must Thank the irrepressible Mons AKA Monica for that
Monica!! See how I can use your right name when I need something
Basically I need a crash course in Romanian to learn a few phrases in Construction.
I have this Romanian guy called Emil working with me ATM and he cant speak 2
words of English ⌠maybe you could give me a brief foundation and a few links to
some video clips or something⌠. I think it would take him 10 years to learn English.
Basically his work is pretty good but if you tell him something he just looks at you as if
you have 2 heads? Plus of course it is also relevant with Luschenâs thread of course
Monica!!
See how I can use your right name when I need something
Yes James, I see, I know, it happens
So youâre trying to help Emil see one head instead of two? :))
Ok, then. It will be easy.
Here you have a link which takes you not specifically in Construction, but to the very beginning of the Romanian language. You need to know specific sounds, greetings, numbers, the days of the week, so this could be your first lesson.
Emil will be happy to hear a Romanian greeting on Monday morning. Maybe heâll try to learn some English in return.

Have fun, Jamie! In the mean time, I will look for something helpful for your field.

Thanks Mons its really strange how some people just donât do languages
They just seem so isolated/exposed and I think Emil is one.
Heâs no spring chicken which I suppose doesnât really help.
Maybe if we can stick it out there will be an interesting Pidgin on its way
Hi, Jamie!
I suppose Emil is the only Romanian among all your employees because otherwise he wouldnât be so lost in space. See if he can speak German or French, because all of us learn one of these foreign languages in school.
He must be very brave or maybe self-confident to the extreme or maybe a little crazy, to get a job in a foreign country without knowing any basic language. But heâll learn it anyway, and youâre right, it may be some sort of Pidgin
Oh, how much Iâd like to see you two communicating now!
If youâre still and really interested, I found a set of videos named QR.
If you search on YouTube âquick romanian": and access âQRâ, you will find some good lessons of basic Romanian. You may take a look and choose whatever you like: colors, numbers, distances, public transport, all grammar issues, totally about 90 videos (nothing of Construction I guess, unfortunately â which can get resolved with a dictionary on-line). These lessons are pretty well organised and teach also pronunciation. I think theyâre very good.
You might be interested in some specific sentences and I can translate them in Romanian for you.
Good luck with Emil and âŚHave fun
Monica

Yes, I did have a chance to try the ârare old mountain dewâ a few years ago. Now actually, âmoonshineâ - unaged whiskey, is legal and I must admit the legal stuff generally tastes better than the illegal moonshine I tried did.
Making oneâs own alcohol and keeping it a secret from the government has a long tradition, just as old as the US itself. In fact, one of the first big tests of the new republic was the Whiskey Rebellion en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whiskey_Rebellion

It is funny you mentioned meeting Steve Earl in Galway. I visited Ireland in college and remember going to several pubs in Galway looking for some band playing traditional Irish music, but they were all playing American country songs. The other thing I remember was the âSuper Macâ restaurants. How did they avoid getting sued by McDonalds? Are they still around?
