At universities and colleges, sports and social activities are just as important as classes and libraries and should receive equal financial support. (It is my first essay, I will be thankful if you refine it)

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

At universities and colleges, sports and social activities are just as important as classes and libraries and should receive equal financial support.

Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Universities offered a variety of courses to students, but some of them are taken excellent financial support. It is believed that sports and social activities should be allocated the same budget at universities and colleges. I firmly believe that sports and social activities must be assigned the same budget. I think this way for two reasons that I will explore in the following essay.

First, sports are necessary, and students need to be healthy mentally and physically. Therefore, without perfect sports facilities, student’s efficiency will be diminished. For example, one of the best university in my country, which had top rank among all universities, after some years found out that its students’ performance and interest was decreasing. Its officials hired some experts to analyze problems. By investigating the collected data from interviewing from students, they understand students did not do any exercising and most of them were boring at classes. lack of perfect exercising facilities made official to improve sports equipment. It was bought some equipment and built a recreational center. Although the assigned budget was high, students welcomed that. After that students’ performances incredibly increased. Hence, the University allotted as the same budget as other classes and libraries to sports.

Second, sports and social activities are essential to society. Besides universities should give doctors and engineers to society, they should breed students who be able to improve people’s social interactions and activities. University is a small society and helps people to know how to contact and aid people; moreover, some universities do not pay attention to their importance. For example, students from different places with different ethics participates at universities. Most of them are not aware of the importance of social activities, and they will deal with some problems in society. Thus, it is a university’s responsibility to take a measure, for instance, they can consider financial support.

To put it in a nutshell, to improve students’ performance and efficiency at university and help them to know how to interact in society and how to help their people, it is vital to be assigned the same budget to sports and social activities.

Hi Max, welcome to our forum. How about we start by saying hello to each other before debating financial support, performance, efficiency and rankings?

Hi Max,

On behalf of all the forum members, welcome!

I would rephrase this sentence as follows:

  • Universities and colleges offer a variety of courses to students, but some of them need to be given extra financial support. Furthermore, sports and social activities should be allocated the same budget as other classes.

You see Max, you’re trying to explain what you believe and that’s important. I’m not saying that what is generally believed is unimportant, because we all know that sports and social activities need the same budget as other classes, be it either at college or university. So, by all means do mention it. However, if you insist on saying: ‘it is generally believed’, I would recommend using the following:

  • Scientists and sport experts generally believe that…

After that you can name a few of those and briefly tell your readers what they have to say. Always present facts, arguments and proof. So, always try to be objective. I hope I’ve given you some good advice.

After all, ‘Mens Sana in Corpore Sano,’ remember?

Happy Easter, Max :purple_heart:

It all depends on what you really want. How do you define ‘privileged university’ and ‘make a career’ especially now that nobody knows what our society and economy will look like within the next few years?

Yes, but I have to make a bright future, and I keep trying to take a high score because I have to. I have no other choices.

You always have a choice between at least two options. Now, can you tell me what exactly you want to accomplish? What do you want to study and why?

Max,

Take your chances, go for it! Believe in yourself and get that toefl certificate. However, could you tell me what condition skills are? By the way have you applied for jobs in your country? If so, how many times?

Just a quick note to let you know that you should spell adjectives ending in ‘ful’ with just one ‘l’.
