yourself

Hello everyone,

From a book Act like a leader, Think like a leader

shadowsgovernment.com/shadow … Ibarra.pdf

page 20 of the pdf:
So the best place to begin is by making changes in how you do your job, what kinds of relationships you form, and how you do what you do (figure 1-3). These outsight sources form a tripod, working together to define and shape your identity as a leader (or to hold you back). Ignore any one of the legs, and the foundation is not stable.

page 26:
Outsight comes from a “tripod” of sources: new ways of doing your work
(your job), new relationships (your network), and new ways of connecting to
and engaging people (yourself).

I understand what “new ways of connecting to and engaging people” means, but what is the meaning of “yourself”?

Thank you.

Try to reread it and imagine the tripod this way:

Your job-- new ways of doing your work [including innovative approaches]
Your network-- new relationships [you form in order to achieve your goals]
Yourself-- new ways of connecting to and engaging people [meaning it’s you who are to create a new environment in which employees feel passionate about their jobs, and committed to the organization]

Thank you, Eugene2114.
