This line from Kings of leon’s song is edited. What does it mean?

At songmeanings.net/songs/view/ … 858738892/ someone suggests that it’s referring to a suicide pact, which seems plausible since the next line is apparently “Always remember the pact that we made”. (“kick the bucket” is an idiom meaning “die”, and “swing my legs” could refer to hanging.)
