'you and me' vs. 'you and I'?

what is correct?

1-[color=red]YOU AND ME
2-[color=BLUE]YOU AND I

BECAUSE I FIND THE LAST ONE LESS COMMON BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN THAT IS INCORRECT RIGHT?

.

Hi Witch,

You are right - both versions are used in modern English with the second one being more popular.

PS: Please type [color=blue]netiquette shouting into Google and study the information that comes up. If you like you can share the results with us here on the forum. Thanks.[YSaerTTEW443543]

Hi torsten

everything well in venezuela at least until this 31 oct when we have to vote for governors and mayors (that could be a problem)

i’m a secretary and english student by the way who need practice a lot as my teachers told me all the time, they say “read more and speak” and i’m doing that, in other hands my plans to next year are:

1- get a good job by using my english skill
2- find love
3- buy my own place to live or at least rent one

mmm these are for this moment what i want, i don’t know if i can do it but i’m going to try hard.

Hi Witch,

You’re right that both “you and me” and “you and I” are correct, but it depends on the context. I is a subject pronoun, me is an object pronoun, and you is both.

Subject pronouns are used as the subject of a sentence or clause: “You and I should see a movie tonight.”

Object pronouns are the objects of verbs or prepositions: “Stephen wants to join you and me at the movie tonight.” Also, “Stephen is going to the movie with you and me.”

I hope this helps,
Jen

Torsten, what are your plans for 2012, if I may ask. Thanks
