writing multiple-choice

Please help me explain this answer

Gloria Felden is almost as talented a singer as she is a songwriter.
A. As it now
B. almost equally talented, whether a singer or a songwriter.

The answer is A. I don’t understand why adj “talented” is in front of “a singer”. I think It should be “talented singer”
I also don’t understand why (B) is not true.

Thank you for you assistance!

(A) doesn’t make sense as a phrase. Did you copy it correctly?
Exactyly what were you supposed to do with this question.

almost as talented / a singer / as she is / a songwriter.
She is nearly as talented at singing as she is (talented) at songwriting.

Gloria Felden is almost as talented a singer as she is a songwriter.
A. Gloria Felden is almost as talented a singer as she is a songwriter. (As it is now)

I do not understand the comparison used in this sentence.

She is nearly as talented at singing as she is (talented) at songwriting. - her singing is not quite up to the standard of her songwriting.
