Hi Alan and Torsten! Answer me please! Is it the same?
“What is it worth” and “What is it cost”
Many thanks

Hi,

Worth is value - cost is price. The sentence should be: WHAT DOES IT COST?

Alan

So, what’s the difference between cost and price when used as nouns, sir?

Hi,

‘Cost’ refers to what has to be paid both literally and figuratively as in: Before buying a house, you have to consider the cost involved. You also have to take into consideration the cost you have to pay in terms of worry and responsibility. Although ‘price’ can have a figurative meaning too, it usually refers to the actual sum of money you pay.

Alan

Why can’t we use price for that sentence sir? I mean the price of buying the house.
