with or without S

The new immigrants from all over the world living in the comunities.
That has us an opportunity to explore different faith, belief and tradition.
OR
That has given us an opportunity to explore different faiths, beliefs and traditions.

faith, belief and tradition. With or without s. why?

I suspect that sentence fragment should read like this:

There are new immigrants from all over the world living in the communities.

You should use “s” because all those nouns should be plural. If the immigrants come from different places, that quite likely exposes natives not just to one different faith, belief or tradition but many. All three nouns have uncountable forms; however, I don’t find those uses likely here.

Hi Mordant,
I am sorry I couldn’t fully undersatnd your reply.
Do you mena the correct way is:

The are new immigrants from all over the world living in the communities.
They have given us an opportunity to explore different faiths, beliefs and traditions.

Faith, belief, tradition with S .

Thanks,
jimic

The are There are new immigrants from all over the world living in the communities.
They have given us an opportunity to explore different faiths, beliefs and traditions.

Now it’s correct.

Hello Jimic,

That is correct. You need the plural form because there is opportunity to explore more than one faith, more than one belief and more than one tradition.
