Hi everyone!!!
First of all, I have to apologize for my English, I know it is horrible …
I am 27 and I come from Poland. Ten months ago I arrived in UK but I have stayed at home because I looked after my son … Unfortunately I do not know anyone here so my English does not improve … I would like to speak English …. I have to speak English so every day I watch TV, study “English grammar in use” but it does not work … so I hope YOU [and english-test.net] help me with it.
Do you really want to know what language is spoken in Poland or are you just joking?
I mean, it’s almost as if I asked what language you speak in Vietnam, isn’t it?
Oh sorry, I’m not joking. I think that people speak English in Poland… Can you tell me what languae spoken in Poland? You know, we speak Vietnamese in Vietnam.
Very interesting. What makes you think people in Poland speak English as their mother tongue? Why should they? Do you speak English as your first language in Vietnam? No, you speak Vietnamese so people in Poland speak Polish of course. Take a look at this story and you’ll learn more about Polish people: english-test.net/stories/index.html
You know, people in Canada speak both English and French as their mother tongues. I though people in Poland spoke English because Poland is in the Europe and… my knowledge is not very good.
I’m not upset Tortoise just surprised by the fact that you think because Poland happens to be in Europe, people in Poland would speak English per se. Canada is a different story. The indigenous people there speak their own languages and English and/or French because most European immigrants were from either England, Ireland or France. Poland is a completely different story because it has got an ancient history. You might know that in Eastern and Southern Europe there live a number of Slavic nations that are made up of ancient Slavic tribes and Poland is the largest Slavic nation in the European Union. There was a discussion about the Polish language here: (you have to read Mosteque’s messages)… What is your mother tongue?
I need help with GMAT, from the very basic, any suggestions on classes, group, material. I need to begin from the basic and work my way up to GMAT level. I attended a 6 weeks class last year only to learn that i need help with the very basic stuff before attempting to tackle GMAT material. I have been out of the classroom for a long time and math is my weak area. When i look at the Gmat material it seems like it is in another language. I have no clue. I am willing to go back to basic, but i dont want o to spend a long time there. Time and money is essential. Any help out there!
