will play/ play

Hello!
I have the sentences and I have to choose the correct form and sometimes both could be correct.

  1. Our kids will play / play their music too loudly - it drives me crazy.( both are seen as correct but why ‘will play’ is considered correct?)
  2. Uncle Harry never used to like / liked gardening. ( both are taken as correct but state verbs ‘like’ can be used with ‘used to’?
Thank you for your time and help!
  1. Our kids will play/play their music too loudly - it drives me crazy. (The first part shows the possibility or probability of our kids playing the music while the second indicates the fact that they usually do it)

  2. Uncle Harry never used to like/liked gardening. [The first part shows that Uncle Harry did not like (was not in the habit of being interested in) gardening, perhaps, while the second part clearly says he never liked gardening at all)
