Why cannot the train remain at the platform?

I’ve got a question.

May not the word “remaining” be placed instead of “standing” here?

Hi pivosz,

A train is standing at platform 4 means it is there/present/available

A train is remaining at platform 4 means it has not moved from there/it is staying behind and the suggestion is that it should have left.
