I have a gut feeling/hunch. Mr. Obama will rule again. The world still needs him to wrap up this and that of his yesterday’s works.

Oh, and I like him.

Mr. Putin would like him as well. Do you Mr. Putin?

Agreed, Barack should stay in office for another 4 years. Has been doing a good job so far, the world still needs and supports him. Barack is definitely our guy. I’m going to take an interview with him on the international ESL question.

As for Putin, not sure he is in the same league as Obama. They run completely different countries using completely different approaches. I don’t like Putin as a person, I don’t trust this former KGB agent.

Same holds true for his foster son, Medvedyev. They two are bad actors and it’s a pity the Russians keep putting up with the stuff those two little men kick around.[YSaerTTEW443543]

Some time, somewhere, some people are irreplaceable and indispensable. That’s the fate of the very country. Saints or sinners as their leaders, they’ve got to accept the facts. Unless die before dishonour. What to do? Gods’ will?

Mr. Putin can be a sinner. But no one can lead Russia, as he does. Especially, in this chaotic era of the world mislead by incompetent so called leaders ( 4 years X 4 incompetent leaders= 16 years: in some countries 20 or 24 years? ). Imagine a country with a 100 million people under economic depression. Living hell?

Besides, we all will have wars after wars. Racial, religious, trade, mad, crazy all kinds and types wars.

So let him be a sinner who can manipulate or safeguard world peace.

He can be a blessing in disguise.

I should follow the macro world politics in most cases.

Auf wiedersehen!

It’s going to be close, but Obama will probably lose. Many people say he is “the worst president since Jimmy Carter”, but personally I think he is even worse than Carter. Carter never used gangster tactics to try to silence his opposition, and didn’t even try to silence his opposition at all, but short of killing people, Obama does use gangster tactics.

The big question is why a European and an Asian would think Obama is doing “a good job”. Is it because he’s trying to turn the US into a bankrupt European-style welfare state? Because he’s shrinking the American military’s power?

While the official unemployment rate has barely moved since Obama took office, you can see increasing poverty everywhere here. Even in recessions, beggars on the street used to be mainly drug addicts or mentally ill people who refused to live in care facilities. Now I’m running into more and more ordinary people on the street who are hungry. The way you know they’re not drug addicts is that they ask for food and not money.

How anyone with any knowledge of American politics and the US economy can think Obama is doing a good job is a complete mystery. Polls show that most Americans don’t trust him.

Hello Jamie,

Apparently as a last ditch effort to win the election, Obama has enacted amnesty for illegal aliens who were born in the US. I think it’s going to tip the balance in Obama’s favor, because droves of legalized illegals will cast their votes for Obama. I know it’s a sham elaborated by Obama and his cronies to steal the 2012 election. I see it for what it is.

What galls me to no end is that if anybody says that Obama is a bad president , he or she is immediately accused of being racist! This is just preposterous. We need to put an end to this. People should be judged and evaluated based on the content of their character, not on their skin color. It reminds me of a joke:

A foreman fires one of his workers who happens to be black.
The worker: you’re firing me because I’m black.
The foreman: I hired you because you’re black, I’m firing you because you’re no good.

I think it’s high time America fired Obama, because he has accrued a HUGE national debt - to the tune of 4 trillion dollars, he’s destroyed many jobs and as a result many hard working Americans are out of a job (although he has restored many jobs too), he has undermined America’s image, etc.

I see that the topic has attracted “The Brain”, as Kitos is wont to call him. I shall exit the stage and let him bask in the limelight for the time being.

The most outrageous factor in this election is that Obama’s justice department has sued states that try to remove dead people and non-citizens from the voter rolls, and they’re doing everything to prevent states from requiring people to show picture ID in order to vote. This is basically an admission that they plan to win through fraud.

Right now in some states, because you don’t have to show ID, you can walk into a polling place and say you’re anyone, dead or alive, and they’ll give you a ballot. Luckily, I don’t live in a state like that, but there are interesting videos of people walking in and getting a ballot after saying they were some dead person – or even saying they were the head of the US Justice Department. The Democrats, and the Obama administration in particular, are trying to prevent that fraud from being stopped.

In 2000, Democrats complained that George W. Bush “stole” the election, because he had won Florida by just a few hundred votes. However, this year it was found that there were something like 17,000 dead people and non-US citizens registered to vote in Florida. The state was going to remove those names, but the Obama administration sued to stop it. This is because most dead people vote for Democrats.

Meanwhile, they’re taking steps to make it as difficult as possible for people in the military to vote, because they largely vote for Republicans.

I know there’s always been corruption, but I’ve never seen a situation where people are so shamelessly corrupt right out in the open than in the Obama administration.

Romney looks even worse than Bush. He has no charisma whatsoever. I don’t think the Americans will make the mistake to elect him. At least Bush admitted that he is not the brightest. He could laugh about himself and didn’t pretend to be sincere. This Romney character seems to think that clean white set of teeth along with same lame slogans is enough to turn America’s economy around. Barack is going to stay in office, you’ll see.[YSaerTTEW443543]

I think you’re confusing Romney with Barack Obama. Romney understands economics. Obama doesn’t. He’s basically an empty suit.

And Torsten, when you read the poll numbers, keep the Bradley Effect in mind: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_effect

Jamie, Bush understood neither economics nor basic English grammar. He was a cowboy. The president doesn’t have to understand every technical details of economics. His single most important job is to get others do their job. His job is to inspire his nation to work as a team. Romney with his false teeth can’t do that. He is too sleazy and the Europeans won’t trust him. They do trust Obama like it or not.[YSaerTTEW443543]

What would be the USA and the world like if JFK still ruled the States. Heaven of Hell?

Who knows? And who really cares?

First, Torsten, you’re showing that funny European ignorance of the United States that thinks the word “cowboy” is an insult.

Secondly, I don’t know of many cowboys who have master’s degrees from Harvard Business School, which Bush had.

Europeans have never trusted our best presidents, but they trust politicians of their own who have led their countries and the European Union to economic ruin. This is what makes Europe both sad and comical at the same time, and it’s why their opinion on US politics is useful for nothing but entertainment.

By the way, Obama hasn’t been very successful at inspiring the nation. If you were here, you’d see that.

Europeans get filtered news about the United States, so it’s understandable you wouldn’t understand what’s going on here. As an American friend who stayed on in Europe after I came home tells me, the American news in Europe “is like a 24-hour propaganda bath.”

Hehe, I never read my local rags to learn facts about the States. (well to be honest I never read them period)
I prefer to get the scoop straight from the horse’s mouth so to speak. I listen to the radio on the internet and read articles from reliable sources, like the New York Times. Maybe some sites ARE censored, but they can’t censor the radio (talk radio stations on the internet number in the hundreds - it would be impossible to censor them all, although of course you can’t put it past them)

And I know that Obama is mostly reviled by many prominent talk show hosts, like Michael Savage, Todd Schnitt. The latter even composed a song that shows/exposes Obama for the communist he is :

If America sticks with Obama, it might be lights out for free enterprise.
