Which tense should I use, simple past tense (saw) or present perfect (have seen) in the Direct Speech? Is it correct if I use present perfect (have seen)?

How should I change this indirect speech,“He told me that he had seen my cat in front of his house two days before.” into direct speech? Especially, I’d like to know how the tense will be changed?
