Which sentense should I use? (I used to talk with him)

Suppose i dont talk with my friend.but i used to talk with him(is it correct sentence!or i talked with him).Now i want to say it to other .So what can i say now?

Without any further context, if you only say “I talked with him”, that suggests that you are referring to one specific time in the past.

If you say “I used to talk with him”, that means that you talked to him on a regular basis in the past, but now you don’t talk to him at all.
