This one would work too if you rewrote it as follows: I am the lucky one because I have you by my side.

I think it’s grammatically correct but it sounds odd.
I believe #1 is grammatically correct, but no one would ever say it that way. I think we dropped this “it is I” type form long ago, except for people using it as an affection.
@Torsten’s rephrasing of it is, of course, fine.
I would guess that this text was preceded by someone saying something like “I am so lucky to be here”, in which case #2 would flow a little better.
