When we drop the helping verbs in spoken English...

Hi

Could you please tell me which form of color=red verb we use when we drop helping verbs in spoken English on purpose. Which version do you find better in both pairs?

[color=red]PS: verb or the verb?

You’re right, in spoken English we sometimes omit the “Did” and along with it, often the “you.”

However, we keep the correct form of the verb -

Do you come here often? Come here often?
Did you find it? Find it?

On the other hand, sometimes we make a question by using the standard declarative phrasing with a rising intonation – usually this would be to express surprise.

You’re there already? You went back to that jerk? You went there yesterday? (I thought you weren’t going again until next week.)
