I can.
Oh, and it is lullabies.
The singular is lullaby and the plural is lullabies. Try to find a grammar book or a dictionary. I recommend Collins-Cobuild.
Singular nouns ending -y often end in-ies in plural, like story- stories/ ruby-rubies.
Hi,
I have known about the conversion of the y into ie when building the plural of a noun. I, only saw an American- native spelling lullaby (e) with an e at its end and that was what made me wonder. If the last letter of a word is an e after y does the conversion work then , too?
Is there, or does anyone know, a word that ends …“ye” and how is its plural´s ending?
Thanks in advance
Michael
[color=blue]Oh…, by the way, thank you for responding to Cerberus and Detlef
If a word ends with “-ye”, it doesn’t end with “-y”, so it should get a regular s: eyes, goodbyes. Note that there are few words that end with “-ye” in modern spelling.
aye
