Hi,
“Celtic might still have dreams of second place, but this will go a long way to ensuring that whatever happens here on in, the Scottish champions are the hottest of favourites to earn European football in the new year.”

Dissecting that ‘whatever happens here on in’ part I was reading it like, ‘whatever happens in this group from now on…’
My question is about how a similar construction would sound to your ear: no frowning on two prepositions in a row, both referring to the same verb?

I can think of some other situations where it would work - like “It crawled out from under the bed.” That could almost be considered three prepositions in a row, though I guess here “out” is an adverb.
