What verb do you use with "fireworks"?

Can you say “to display fireworks”?

I know not many people get to play with fireworks, but yeah, I’m in China and it’s a right to buy and sell fireworks here.

A formal fireworks presentation can be called a fireworks display, but I don’t think we’d say that someone displays fireworks (I may be wrong). In that situation, we might say someone puts on a fireworks show or gives a fireworks show or puts on a fireworks display or gives a fireworks display. You can say display fireworks if you are showing them on the shelf in the store. Display fireworks can also mean “the type of fireworks used for a show”.

If you are just a kid or a family informally using fireworks, I’d say you set off fireworks, let off fireworks, shoot off fireworks or play with fireworks.
