What is the difference between 'take a look' and 'have a look'?

Dear Teacher,

Could you tell me please what is the difference between ‘take a look’ and ‘have a look’ ?

Are the two have the same meaning?

Best regards

Guruh

Almost identical. No difference in meaning. There might be some regional usage differences. “Have” is maybe 1/2 of 1% more friendly, in my opinion.

Hi Mr Erik,

So it means both the two word verbs are have the same meaning.

Thanks for your reply and your explanation

best regards

Guruh

These two verbs can have the same meaning in certain contexts, but not always.

Milanya, Could you please explain your point with some examples?

Not to steal Milanya’s chance, but, for example, “look it over” and “take it over” are absolutely different.
