What is the difference between "so" and "thus"?

Hi all,

What is the difference btw “thus” and “so” in:

a.Many students have argued so/thus.
b.The colleges have expanded, thus/so allowing many more people the chance of higher education.
c.We do not own the building. So/ Thus, it would be impossible for us to make any major changes to it.
d.She thinks I dislike her but that just isn’t so/thus.

Are “so” and “thus” interchangeable?

Thanks
K

.
So and thus are interchangeable in a, b and c. But I have my own preference in sentences a and b:
a.Many students have argued so.
b.The colleges have expanded, thus allowing many more people the chance of higher education.

Sentence d can use only so because it is used as an adjective meaning true.

Hi Amy,

You are on the forum now. Can you return to the “which or which one” and share with me your opinions about “correct” or “not correct”?

Please help me. (Although they’re only small details but I like it).

Thanks
