What is the different of “remit” and “deposit”?
I’ve corrected your question in the title.
Please remit to CIMB bank.
Okay, I will deposit the money to your bank.
Are they right. Deposit can be remit but remit is not deposit.
I think you are confusing the verb ‘to remit’ with the noun ‘remittance’. A remittance is any amount of money that is sent or transferred to another party while a deposit is an amount of money you pay into your bank account.
For one terrifying moment seeing this discussion I thought the ghost of @Beeesneees was before my eyes !!
Don’t be afraid, besides, we have a wonderful language coach now. His name: Torsten.
