Dear my Teachers and friends,
Would you like to explain me the definition of 'emulate’? I found it in dictionary in these definitions 1. To strive to equal or excel, especially through imitation: an older pupil whose accomplishments and style I emulated.
2. To compete with successfully; approach or attain equality with.
My question is, Is 'take after ‘other meaning of it?
In advance thank you very much indeed for your describing.
Sincerely yours

I would say ‘imitate’ is a better definition than ‘take after’, Mitra.

In business, a company may strive to emulate (model, copy) another’s success. Business leaders may have had mentors whom they emulated to achieve success. Remember that emulate is not simply a synonym of imitate. When you imitate someone, you copy what they do, and when you emulate someone, you strive to reach or exceed their success; you can do this by copying some of their best practices, but it’s always with a focus on matching or exceeding their success.
