What is a hot-sheets motel?

Good morning! What is a hot-sheets motel? I think it’s a brothel. Is that true? Cheers! Holly

Hello Holler,

I haven’t encountered the expression before. However, motels are commonly used as convenient places for sexual liaisons; and “hot sheets” suggests both rapid throughput and activities of a lively nature.

So I would paraphrase as “motels which are popular places for sexual assignations”.
