I’ve found an interesting article, that uses an interesting term - “data as labour”.

What do you think about this article?

There are some interesting aspects in this article but it’s written in a rather abstract and biased fashion. The author is talking about how big companies like Google and Facebook are exploiting our personal data without giving concrete examples.

There is a significant difference between ‘data’ and ‘information’. Data in its raw original format doesn’t have any value because it hasn’t been processed into information yet. So, the entire article lacks all the benefits we users have from free services like search engines and free email accounts and whole range of other free services the internet provides.
