I’m Superman
With the wind in his bag
It made sense to the person who wrote it, but it doesn’t make much sense to me.
It could men that the person feels all-powerful and talks a lot. It could also mean something obscene.
Thank you Jamie.
There are some myths or fairy stories where someone is given wind in a bag, i.e. can open the bag to release the wind when necessary (usually while on a sailing trip when you need to be in a hurry).
I would guess that this means that someone feels powerful like superman, able to fly and able to control the wind/faster than the wind (metaphorically)…
WAIT!! stop the press!
… this is from an Eminem track yes… if so then the real lyrics are “wind at my back…”
i.e. the wind is behind me, blowing me on - I am going fast
lesson for the day kids - the importance of getting the quote right
Google is your friend!
This is from an Eminem track, Thredder, but the real lyric is something else. this is part of a song from Eminem and Rihanna. You can see one part of the song below:
I can’t tell you what it really is
I can only tell you what it feels like
And right now there’s a steel knife
In my windpipe
I can’t breathe
But I still fight
While I can fight
As long as the wrong feels right
It’s like I’m in flight
High of a love
Drunk from the hate
It’s like I’m huffing paint
And I love it the more that I suffer
I sufficate
And right before im about to drown
She resuscitates me
She fu… hates me
And I love it
Wait
Where you going
I’m leaving you
No you ain’t
Come back
We’re running right back
Here we go again
It’s so insane
Cause when it’s going good
It’s going great
I’m Superman
With the wind in his bag
She’s Lois Lane
But when it’s bad
It’s awful
I feel so ashamed
I snap
Who’s that dude
I don’t even know his name
I laid hands on her
I’ll never stoop so low again
I guess I don’t know my own strength
“She’s Lois Lane”, I don’t know what this means. does it have a particular meaning?
Sorry DW, but you have the quote wrong. Every lyrics I look at say “wind in his back” which also makes much more sense than bag.
And Lois Lane was / is Superman’s girlfriend.
Don’t be sorry Thredder. Thank you, I got it. I have had many dreams which in them I was flying and I had wind in my BACK.
Hi Dodgewiper,
In my humble opinion by reading the verses bellow you have to know something about the ancient Greece warrior Odyssey, i.e. you have to have a good knowledge about the written in an ancient book with the title “Iliad.”
"Odysseus went on to the island of Aiolia, of which Aiolos was king. Zeus had set him up as coordinator of the Anemoi (Winds), for both stopping them and stirring them up. After playing host to Odysseus, he gave him an ox-skin (bag), in which he had tied up the Anemoi (Winds). He explained which Winds would be needed for sailing, and fastened the skin securely in the ship. So Odysseus, by using the correct Winds, had a good voyage…( He gave him a favorable wind to help him on his journey, but unfortunately his companions released them, so the winds escaped ….– fortunately your hero in the depicted case bellow managed to keep the wind in his bag)
We’re running right back
Here we go again
It’s so insane
Cause when it’s going good
It’s going great
I’m Superman
