What does stringy mean?

Hello,
Although I have been socializing with you and discussing about different structures Run-On Sentences, Concise sentences, etc…), but after I had heard about what the teacher will bring us in the exam…

I now don’t understand anything…

She said study these:-

Can you please tell me what are those?
I have only studied (Run-On - Concise - Clauses - Parallelism, but what is stringy, fragment and sentence problems.

‘Stringy’ refers to sentences that continue in short coordinate clauses: ‘I went to the bank, and I took out $100 and took it to my brother and gave it to him, but I forgot to ask him for a receipt, so…’

A sentence fragment is a sentence which is incomplete in some way and cannot stand alone. The usual error is not including a finite verb: ‘The man sitting on the floor.’

‘Sentence problems’ refers to all of those things your teacher lists.

So, how can I correct the stringy sentence?
By using some subordination markers? to make at least the sentence contain some independent clauses with some dependent clauses?

Like this?
When I went to the bank, I took 100$ and gave them to my brother; however, I forgot to ask him for a receipt.

And how about the fragment?
How could it be in the exam?
The teacher says: Correct the fragment sentence? Or what?
Correct the sentence problems in the following? And it’s my job to find out what’s kind of problem is it?

The man, who is sitting on the floor, is crying.
Is that right?

So, how can I correct the stringy sentence? By using some subordination markers? to make at least the sentence contain some independent clauses with some dependent clauses?– Yes, and with long ones, you can often go further: break them into more than one sentence.

And how about the fragment? How could it be in the exam? The teacher says: Correct the fragment sentence? Or what?-- Perhaps; I don’t know how your teacher might present them.

Correct the sentence problems in the following? And it’s my job to find out what kind of problem it is?– Yes, that is a likely approach.

Thanks.
OK can you tell me how are you going to present fragment in an exam?

Please correct the following passage:

One summer’s day, a merry Grasshopper dancing, singing and playing his violin with all his heart. He saw an Ant passed by, bearing along with the great toil a wheat ear to store for a winter.

“Come and sing with I instead of work so hard”, said the Grasshopper. “Let’s have a fun together.”
“I must be store food for a winter”, said the Ant, “and I advice you to do same.”
“Don’t worry of winter, it’s still very far and away”, said the Grasshopper, laughing to him. And the Ant listening but continuing his toil.

When the winter, the starving Grasshopper went at the Ant’s house and humbly begged for everything to eat.
“If you had listened to my advise in the summer you will not now be in need,” said the Ant. “I’m afraid you will must go supperless to bed!” And closed the door.

That’s too difficult!

Perhaps for you, but that is how I would ‘sentence problems’ in an exam.

Yes, that’s exactly right.
Because I haven’t been used to have correcting a passage question in the exam.
It is always a sentence correction as you have seen in my previous examples.
