I’d like to know what sooner than…means. For instance, sooner than it seems life turns around. Thank you.

1.soon=in a short time from now, or a short time after something else happens:
It will be dark soon.
David arrived sooner than I expected.
2.soon=quickly:
How soon can you finish the report?
Try and get the car fixed as soon as possible.

If it were No sooner than, it would be much easier. But this expression is in the song Someone’s watching over me and I’ve been trying very hard to translate it but no translation seems to be adequate.

It is a poorly written lyric.

It means that while it may seem to take a very long time for life to change from bad to good or good to bad, it might change sooner than one thinks.
