Which song is it? It’s They don’t care about us, isn’t it?

yes, you correctly guessed the song. do you know what it means Blue Snow?

i think English people don’t know the meaning like us. (-:

Skinhead means a bald-headed man and deadhead means a man going to the theatre to watch a play or get on a train without paying the fare.

Given the overall theme of the song ‘skinhead’ refers to racists and ‘deadhead’ to people who don’t think for themselves.

BS, your definition of ‘deadhead’ doesn’t make any sense in the context of the song.[YSaerTTEW443543]

I just took it from the dictionary. Basing on what did you say so?

Based on the fact that Michael Jackson wasn’t talking about non fee-paying passengers or courtesy seat theatre-goers, I’d guess.

But those just can disprove my post not give the evidence of that ways of defining.

Hi Blue Snow,

I respect your efforts and attempts in learning English and in sharing with others your opinions. But, I would like to strongly propose that you make peace with those who care about you for a correct knowledge and way of learning the language. If you can spend more time in listening and thinking, I am sure you will make progress far more efficiently than in fighting with them who spend their time in letting you know about your errors. Which benefits you better and more?

OK, I hope to see a new type of your posts from now on.

Best wishes,

Haihao

Skinhead: a member of a group of people of the same character, interests, ideas. Some other more internationally known groups are “hells angels”, “mods”, “punks” … and the list goes on…

Deadhead: Simply a person with a dead brain, or stubbon (even if the opinion they hold is detrimental to themselves or others).

Many best wishes to all.

Skin head - A skinhead is a member of a subculture that originated among working class youths in the United Kingdom in the 1960s, and then spread to other parts of the world. Named for their close-cropped or shaven heads, the first skinheads were greatly influenced by West Indian (specifically Jamaican) rude boys and British mods, in terms of fashion, music and lifestyle.

Dead head - A very stupid, lifeless or boring person. An obvious derivation of its component parts, this phrase is reinforced by its 19th-century American meaning of non-paying passengers or non-participants (from a ‘dead head’ of cattle).

Hi PN,

I really can’t see the point of regurgitating what anyone can find in Wikipedia simply to advertise your site, which as I have already pointed out, does contain some ‘strange’ English.

Alan

Where I come from, a deadhead is a fan of the band “The Grateful Dead”, but I have no idea if that is what MJ is referring to in his “song”.

I’m with Expatcat. I being a musician I think MJ was referring to ‘deadhead’ in the sense of The Grateful Dead or basically Hippies. Skinhead, Deadhead, Everyone Gone Bad. Like saying the Worse to the Best of us have gone Bad.
