What does “keep things together” mean?
Hi Liu,
As you have quoted it, it could mean one or two things. Perhaps you could show me the rest of the sentence in which you have seen this expression.
Alan
the context is “I went to doctor after doctor with him, and saw him go through so much. Everyone said that I must keep a positive attitude for his sake, because attitude means everything. So, in times of stress, I was the one that had to keep things together. I pushed all my emotions aside and was strong for him.”
Hi Liu,
Thanks for that. In that context I would suggest it means: keep a sense of proportion - remain calm and positive.
Hope that helps.
Alan
Hi, Alan. Thanks a lot for your help.
And I forgot the password of this forum, how can I get to know it?
Thanks again.
