My 19.test was at the first attempt 8:10 with two mistakes. I know there is a possibility to see the good answers but I try to do them without help, and I am undertaking to make mistakes. When I finished the test I am reading everything what you had wrote about this test. These are very instructive and worth reading.

You wrote in 18. lessons-letter that so many people seem to live just for weekend. I have to say till I was active and I was a teacher and I worked every day I was waiting for the week-end when I could be together with my children and my husband. And at last I could have a rest after a very exhausting week.

You or someone else who speak better than me , please to correct this letter. You wrote me several times that we can ask for your help. It would be very important and useful for me. You asked me about the fact that I am still learning English with you? My answer: Till I am alive and healthy I don’t abandon learning English with you.

First of all I beg your pardon as my question is not directly related to the 10(ten) questions of this test. What is the difference between ‘talk’ and ‘speak’?
I guess one thing that the word ‘talk’ in verb form is followed by infinitive to whereas the word ‘speak’ does not. Am I right? Best regards. Partha

I can’t better explanation than Alan sent to us twice.

At the most I can add that in indirect questions we can use it, when there isn’t interrogative.
For exp:
1./Will she come or not?/-direct question
I don’t know whether she will come or not.-indirect question.

2.Often replaced by if in colloq style:
Send me a telegram if I am to come.

3.Introducing an infinitive phrase: / it’s similar to the 1.point./
I don’t know whether to accept the offer or not?

I don’t know why but they registered here only one letter but if you click here you can read the whole letter continuously.

Hello Kati,

I won’t go through the entire text of the letter correcting it now, as you say you have already sent it anyway.

Here are a few things that you might like to consider, though:
We say ‘Facism’ and ‘Communism’ rather than ‘the Fascism’ and ‘the Communism’.
‘Book-burnings’ not ‘books-burnings’ (even though they burned lots of books)
When talking about decades we use the definiite article - the sixties, the seventies, etc.
‘As the years went by…’ rather than ‘as the years went away…’

You will find the link to your letter works now as I have edited it. You don’t need to underline links manually. The underlining will appear by itself. You also need to make sure there is a space before and after it. (I’ve put it in a line of its own which solves this problem).

Hi BZ,

What you have corrected till now it’s very interesting. Since I’ve written this letter I learned something because now I write well: the sixties etc. I learned somewhere that I have to use the definite article here. I learn every day 3-4 hours but this is a slow process of knowing very well the grammar rules, fix expressions, phrasal verbs, idioms etc.

But I know my knowledge of English never be perfect but I do everything that every day I improve a little on it. Till we live we hope-say a Hungarian proverb.
