What does fumming mean?

What is the meaning of the word Fumming?

You probably mean ‘fuming’ as in ‘fuming with rage’?[

“Fuming with rage” is a metaphor. Fuming means to be smoking (not cigarettes), or the process of affecting an object with smoke or chemical vapors. Such as “the traditional way of fuming oak wood to darken it, is to use ammonia in a closed tent”
