[color=red]Topic : What do you consider to be the most important room in a house? Why is this room more important to you than any other room? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
The most beautiful place on this earth, for me, is my house. I am sure most of us echo my feeling. Although, each and every room in our house is important and unique in its own way, of all those rooms, living room stands out to be the best and the most important. While a kitchen is meant for cooking, we hardly use a bedroom for any other purpose rather than sleeping. On the other hand, a living room- as its name suggests- is where we live and spend most of our day. This is generally a place where the entire family sits together to watch movies, talk to each other and to spend time. Hence, I simply can’t imagine a house without a living room.
Generally, these rooms are the largest and the most sprawling of all the remaining rooms in a house. So, it is the best play ground for all our children. People tend to cover the shelves of a living room with family photos, mementos they have received on various occasions and with some antic and beautiful arty-crafts. Quite often, we see the shelves of a living room being covered with books as well. Those gifts and photos take us back into our beautiful past and enable us to relive those unforgettable moments. Arty-crafts, which occupy our show-cases, stand as an illustration of grandeur and our taste for art.
A major chunk of our living room is generally occupied by home theater system. We can listen to songs, watch movies, see our favorite game shows, tune into different programs and news channels as we wish. This is the place where we can listen to heartwarming and soul smoothening music. In this room, we can easily lose ourselves by playing with our children and by travelling into our past through those mementos and gifts.
People give more importance to a living room not only because they spend most of their time in that room but also because it is the face of their house. Generally, any visitor who comes to our house would sit in our living room. Neither would he prefer to come all the way to our bedroom nor would we expect him to do so. Having an aesthetic and beautifully decorated living room not only impresses our visitors but also create an everlasting and positive impact on them.
Although I cannot deny the importance of a bedroom and a kitchen, sleeping and eating are my necessities rather than interests. My interest lies in having fun with my child but not in simply sleeping. Rather than having food, I feel happier by reliving my pleasant past. Hence the living room takes prominence over the other rooms of my house.
