i can say "absolutely freezing"but i cant say “absolutely cold” why
But you can say, “It’s absolutely freezing cold.”
yeh i worked that out i just gotta work out if cold is different from freezing, does cold fit into the same category as hot, there has to be a grammatical reason why one cannot say absolutely cold, i just got to work it out
We can’t say ‘absolutely cold’, because cold is relative and subjective. That is, there’s no definite value that makes something cold, and the range of ‘cold’ covers a wide range of degrees.
However, ‘freezing’ is an absolute, or specific, value, i.e. 0 degrees Celsius/32 degrees Fahrenheit.
