B: I’m going to the movies with a friend. How about you?
A: I’m not sure yet.
B: Well, did you want to go see a movie with me? ← ← ←
A: What movie are you going to see?
B: I’m not sure yet.

Well, did you want to go see a movie with me?

1- Why “did” and not “do”?

2- Can we replace “did” by “do” with the same meaning?

“Do” is fine here.
“Did” also works, but someone smarter than me would have to tell you why.
