Please help with the following sentences:
(1) In 2003, James visited the stadium of XXX Football Club, which IS/ WAS the world’s biggest football club.
If XXX Football Club was and still is the world’s biggest football club today, do we use “IS” or “WAS” in the above sentence. I ask this in the interest of tense concordance.
(2) He told me that he was a doctor.
Similiar to sentence (1), what if he still is a doctor today? Can we use “is” instead of “was”?
