warranty and guarentty

Hi Everyone,
First of all thank you very much to grant me with such a knowledge about grammar. This is confusion in my mind that when to use warranty and guarentty. Would you like to explain them through sentences?
Best Regards
Naz

A Guarantee is a promise that the “THING” will work without fault for an agreed period of time. If it fails to do this then it will be repaired or replaced without a further charge.

A Warranty is an additional safeguard to extend the period of the Guarantee. You will be required to pay for the Warranty.

Thank you Kitos, really useful.

Isn’t it that you can also use guarantee even in casual (not just in buying/trading) conversations… like assuring someone about something. E.g. “I guarantee you, you won’t regret it.” (Or something like that.) While for warranty, I’m not really sure. I use it only when buying gadgets or the likes

Hi Kitos,

Could you explain what is different between " get" and " receive"? Why should we use " get higher position" instead of " receive higher position"? Addition, " receive my salary" instead of " get my salary".

Many thanks,
Chichi

" receive my salary" instead of " get my salary".

Good morning Xuyenchi04. Both are correct, although “receive” is the more pleasant terminology, and the one I would recommend that you use at all times.

" get higher position"
Again, gain/achieve are two better alternatives to use.

How simply the main title and the theme of this thread is changed…just by another questioner.

Hi…Kitos…is this what we call ‘’ [color=blue]miss - leading…? ‘’ (Just kidding)

Thanks very much Kitos, I am now understand it.

Because I am not a native English speaker so I don’t know how to describe my ideas. I started studying English when I was 13, since then I just learned grammar and that’s all. I don’t know how to speak and write in English. And then, when I studied at university I started studying it at Centre for foreign language affair at Ho Chi Minh city. I am now can speak English quite fluently but my writing is so bad. I don’t know many new words, my vocabulary is limited.

Could you tell me some ways to learn English effectively, and how to learn more new words?

Thanks,
Chichi

Hi,

Warranty:A written assurance that some product or service will be provided or will meet certain specifications

ex:The ending of warranty period

Guarantee:Give surety or assume responsibility

Thanks

How can I use " sorry" and " apology" exactly. I think that “apology” is more formal than " sorry" and often used in email or letter. Is it right?

Give me your idea.
Chichi

“How can I use " sorry” and " apology" exactly?"

You must say that you are sorry for whatever has occurred, and you wish to offer your apologies.
