"venfuture" - venture the future

Hi,

I need advices if using “Venture the Future” slogan in a company logo work is corrent or not. It is a slogan for VENFUTURE company, which is offering new venture development consultancy services.

There are other alternatives like “Ventures of (the) Future”. However “Venture the Future” sounds better when considering future creative works. The logo will be like

Venture the Future

Thank you in advance.

Hello Ismail, and welcome to English-test.Net.

The slogan ‘Venture the Future’, like many similar English slogans created by Japanese for Japanese companies, sounds odd and not very meaningful. The individual words chosen (venture, future) are evocative, but the combination they are forced into is unnatural. We cannot ‘venture’ (= risk) the ‘future’. It is possible to ‘Venture into the Future’, but this sounds rather hesitant or lacking in confidence.

The company name itself, Venfuture, is reasonably successful, since contrariwise a company name can sound evocative without having a real meaning.

I see no reason, however, why the company name and its slogan must be lexically related-- in fact, it may be a boring thing to do.
