Using Remove as a Verb

Dear all

I was working with one of my colleagues and I was asking him to remove a card from a shelf and put it back again after a few seconds to restart that that unit. First I asked him to take out the card but after a few seconds I did not know how I can ask him to put the card back into its place, do you have any suggestion ? What 2 words can I use for this purpose?

Having removed the card you wanted him to replace it.

I’m not sure why the removal and replacement of a card from a shelf would ‘restart a unit’. That doesn’t make much sense to me as it stands.

It is a normal activity to remove and replace a card from some specific shelves in mobile operators centers and it restart the hole unit.
