The sheep and oxen are grazing.
When we use “and” with two nouns do use “is” or “or” as Main Verb?
Rachel as well as Eiliza was present…her why have we used “was” and not “were”

If bread and milk are taken as a unit, or one meal, the verb should be singular. Note that “wholesome” is one word.

"As well as " is a preposition in your final sentence. It is like saying “in addition to.” It has no bearing on the verb. “Rachel” is the subject.
