Usage of "swerve"

Hello,

Can I use the word “swerve” this way:

  1. He swerved the car off the fast lane onto the shoulder because his tire blew out.
  2. He swerved off the fast lane onto the shoulder because his tire blew out.
  3. The car swerved off the fast lane onto the shoulder.

Thanks!

Yes to all three - and being a Brit I’d write ‘tyre’.

Thanks Bev,
Yeah, I’m always mixing them up - tyre and tire =)
Now I see that “tyre” is the British version.

It’s a bit like grey vs. gray, license vs. licence, defence vs. defense, etc. ;-)[YSaerTTEW443543]
