Can I use the word “swerve” this way:
- He swerved the car off the fast lane onto the shoulder because his tire blew out.
- He swerved off the fast lane onto the shoulder because his tire blew out.
- The car swerved off the fast lane onto the shoulder.

Yeah, I’m always mixing them up - tyre and tire =)
Now I see that “tyre” is the British version.
