Usage of "supply"

Hi,

Could you throw some light on “supply” in:

She leaned back far to look up where the fireworks were and she caught her knee in her hands so as not to fall back looking up and there was no-one to see only him and her when she revealed all her graceful beautifully shaped legs like that, supply soft and delicately rounded, and she seemed to hear the panting of his heart, his hoarse breathing, because she knew about the passion of men like that, hotblooded, …

I really have no idea which part of speech and what meaning it makes in the sentence.

Hello Haihao,

“Supply” there is the adverb of “supple”, i.e. “able to bend or move freely”.

(That sounds like Gerty to me. We are only a moment away from the scented handkerchief.)

Thank you so very much for your wonderful and helpful direction. The word was really beyond me for a long time after I had read that part of the book. Now all the scales have fallen from my eyes completely with your help! Yes, you are also right about the subject and it was the description of Gerty on (before) watching fireworks on a beach.(?)

BTW, could it be another deliberate usage by the author of the word? The adverb surely could be ‘supplely’ as well.
